Britney Spears-Under the Media Microscope

Introduction

It was not my plan to do the topic on Britney Spears. I was not attracted to the entertainment circle after all. But when I was searching for “CNN interview” on YouTube, her cuty-pretty hair style in the 2003 interview really caught my eyes, then I found I just couldn’t get away from her now. Her exaggerating, larger-than-life way of talking keeps intriguing me. That's how I came up with this episode.

BRITNEY SPEARS—CNN INTERVIEW 2003 SPEARS IN THE CROSSFIRE

Host:Britney Spears isn't a usual topic of political discussions but after she kissed Madonna in the MTV show, she’s once again found herself in the crossfire of culture wars.

Reporter:How do you think you fans who followed you since your days in the Mickey Mouse Club up till now, are they happy with the change.
Britney Spears: I mean honestly it’s about me just performing and expressing myself. And I think when someone sees you up on stage, having fun and you’re fulfilling your dreams, they’re inspired by that, that’s what matters.
Reporter: so you don’t notice any shift in the way you present yourself from 3 years ago, when you were sort of an example of clean-living.
Britney Spears: I think I’m still clean-living. I’m still the person I’ve always been.
Reporter:You said you want to move to London, why?
Britney Spears: It’s the one place I feel completely anonymous and I just like the way they treasure everything. Everything’s very simply done. And you know the milk man still comes to the door. And I like the simplicity there. I think it’s very cool.

(about the president)
Britney Spears: Honestly I think we should just trust our president in every decision he makes, and we should just support that. And you know, be faithful.
Reporter:Do you trust this president(George W Bush)?
Britney Spears: Yes, I do.

Host(Anderson Cooper): She seems very young. She seems a person much younger than who would bear her mid dress. I mean the impression I came away was maybe it’s wrong for us to have adult thoughts about her. She may be 21 but she seems, again, young, in a nice way.

BRITNEY SPAERS SPEAKING OUT(2006)
In a quick trip from famous to infamous, the one-time golden girl now found herself accused of everything. As she transformed herself from the idol of little girls everywhere, to a sexier version the boys could like as well, people began to question, whether she was an appropriate role model for their kids.

Britney says her own breakup with first love Justin Timberlake 4 years ago was the beginning of the end. But not only her love affair, but the press love affair with her.


I don’t think there would be many out there who are superior enough to have sympathy on her. Despite her miserable situation now with her lousy marriages and the paparazzi, she’s still blessed with a brain for music and an amiable face that everybody likes. Anyway, things happen and people change. That’s why we have the notion called “good old times”.

I wrote that exactly one year ago. And Britney Spears has changed still more, and walked further on her paths. I can no longer catch up with her with my previous admiration now. And how have i changed during this year, I mean, in a good way. I can't wait to re-view and post my journals to see how have i changed in these 365 days. I am so exciting!
