I am rewriting the speech on science and culture.
I have been avoiding it for a whole week now, and somehow at the back of my mind I know that at some point this week I will have to sit down and stick down something, either a brilliant piece from my heart, or a stale cliche just like any other. Too much rules and restraints have been put on my thoughts these days during our "brain-storming" sessions. In effect what we were talking about were utter unrealistic glibs. I can see we all have a vague and cloudy mind when it comes to this issue. But I can't come up with something brilliant either. Isn't that the bitterest in the world? - When you see so clearly how impotent and vain you are.
The question is that no one guide us into specific questions and brings us down to the earth. I don't have the capability so I just sit and wait for their talking to bring the worst out of me and expose my utter impotence on this issue. They are talking about anything but their real feelings. Me, too.
Han Han says that a masterpiece is a genius' sudden spark of inspiration, not something brooded out within 10 years by a fool. I hope I am not distorting his original meaning with my poor translation. By the way, next term we are going to have Translation lessons, and I am considering using his works to practise. He has been extremely strict about his work and hasn't authorized any single one of his works to be translated into other languages. If i am not in the English major, i will probably totally agree with him, but now i have to make some compromise.
Back to what i was saying, it is 12:25, and I have only 90 min to finish a speech on Science and Culture.
I think I need to scrap any of the rules and ideals previously imposed on my mind during our discussion, and waite for the moment when the sudden genius spark come striking me.

Why I began to write a blog?
Why I began to write a blog?
- Twitter is becoming too short to contain my effusive emotions and winding reasoning.
Why now?
- I am finally, finally fed up of being isolated.
Why Blogger?
- 1. I already have had a Google account.
- 2. This website is blocked in our country, which means it must be really interesting.
Why in English?
- I want to immerse myself in such an environment so that i will concentrate in a short time (esp. this summer holiday) and hopefully make a huge leap.
